Volunteer trip to Colombia 2019

Earlier this year, in January (2nd to the 12th of 2019), we completed our third version of our new volunteer trips, this time to beautiful Colombia, South America. We had already traveled to India and Costa Rica. This trip was done with members of the Yale Magic Society. Colombia is a literal magical place full of hope now that a 50 year old civil conflict has come to an end. We traveled through 5 small towns in the Boyaca región (Villa de Leyva, Duitama, Mongui, Corrales and Nobsa) and ended our trip on a 6 day stay in Bogota the …

Bringing a bit of love, laughter, magic and hope to the US-Mexico Border

Janet/LaFleur and Tom recently returned from a two week trip to the El Paso-Juarez border. They did 25 magic performances in many places on both sides of the border:             +Detention Centers for children separated from their families; We worked for months to get into these SW Key centers, but we finally did and after our last show in one of the Detention Centers, the director, who organized our performances, wrote: “It was a joy to see how much the children enjoyed the magic, how they laughed with delight. They spoke about the show …

Our Recent Trip to NYC

We recently came back from one of our most amazing trips to date. We went to New York, we did a fundraiser in a lovely art gallery, hosted by our friend Margot, where our guest of honor, Tamara from Colombia told us her testimony after going through our program, and now being a teacher for other young kids in the slums of Colombia, and how she is now paying for her universities studies thanks to what she has learned in our program: Magic + entrepreneurship. Here is a little video of our fundraiser evening: We were also part of Performing …

Now in its third year, the initiative aims to help participants develop self-confidence and public speaking skills, promote creativity and self-discipline, equip participants with a remunerative trade and entrepreneurial skills, and inspire hope that the seemingly impossible is …
