When dreams take flight: Ten of our young magicians experience Flasoma 2025

From February 12th to 16th, Latin America’s largest and most prestigious magic convention took place in Cali, Colombia. Nearly 500 magicians gathered for five extraordinary days of learning through conferences, while experiencing awe-inspiring gala presentations and competitions.
Thanks to our generous donors, particularly Share Magic, we seized an incredible opportunity to bring 10 young magicians from our Bogotá Education Chapter to this landmark event.
For several of our students, this journey marked their first time leaving Bogotá and their first experience flying in an airplane. The sheer excitement of the plane ride alone made the entire effort worthwhile. The wonder in their eyes as they soared above the clouds showed us how these seemingly simple experiences can create lasting memories.

Arriving at the convention hotel was another milestone for our students, none of whom had ever set foot in one before. Their eyes lit up as they explored the dealers’ room, marveling at the vast array of magical props and effects on display. Their enthusiasm was contagious as they eagerly sought to uncover every secret and, naturally, dreamed of taking home every trick in sight!
The conferences proved extraordinary, with our students absorbing every detail like sponges, eager to attend every lecture and understand each nuance of the craft. But what truly touched our hearts was the incredible generosity of the attending artists, many of whom had previous connections with Magicians Without Borders. These renowned magicians went above and beyond – greeting our students warmly, taking photos, sharing impromptu magic in the hallways, offering snacks, and most valuably, sharing their knowledge. We were especially fortunate to experience private lectures and performances from world-class magicians Joshua Jay, Dani DaOrtiz, Sergio Starman, Javi Rufo, Adrian and Rahver a hypnotist.
Taking our Education Chapter students to Flasoma 2025 in Cali was truly a transformative experience. Their immersion in this world-class magic convention will undoubtedly catalyze a deeper enthusiasm and appreciation for the art of magic. Beyond the tricks and techniques, this exposure will profoundly impact their approach to learning, discipline, and self-confidence.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all who made this journey possible, especially Share Magic, whose crucial contribution enabled us to provide this life-changing opportunity to ten of our students. This experience has ignited a passion within them that will fuel their growth not only as magicians and performers but as individuals.
